About this spot

Graal-Müritz is a classic Baltic resort between Rostock and the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula: a wide beach, promenade and pier, plus a surf school with rental on site. Easy to reach and reliable in northerly conditions – the spot ranges from chop to a medium wave depending on wind.

Which wind works at Graal-Müritz? Rideable from west to northeast, ideal in sideshore conditions from west and northeast; alongside that N, NNE, NE, WSW, W, WNW, NW and NNW work. Rig and launch on the beach; the riding is out on the water. Note: groynes and the pier shape the beach and there is no real standing area. In strong wind, kiting and windsurfing here are therefore better suited to advanced, confident riders. The season is the windy half-year; beginners are best off with the surf school and in moderate wind.
